I never expected that my journey back to Oak Park would lead me here.
I came home because I believe in this community. I came back to teach because I believe every child deserves an educator who refuses to give up on them. As an Oak Park graduate, I've always believed that our schools should be a source of pride and opportunity.
Over the past several months, I've attended board meetings, asked questions, reviewed public records, spoken with parents, teachers, and residents, and watched too many important conversations end without meaningful action. I've seen a community asking for transparency, accountability, and leadership that puts students first.
For me, this is not about politics or personal recognition. It's about making sure every decision made in our district is measured against one simple question: Is this in the best interest of our students?
Our children deserve safe schools. Our teachers deserve support. Our taxpayers deserve transparency. And our community deserves leaders who are present, prepared, and willing to make difficult decisions with integrity.
I'm running because I refuse to sit on the sidelines while others decide the future of the school district that helped shape my own life. I believe leadership means listening first, asking hard questions, being accountable to the public, and never losing sight of why we are here—to educate children.
Oak Park has invested in me throughout my life. Now, I am asking for the opportunity to invest even more in Oak Park.
Together, we can restore trust, strengthen our schools, and build a district where every student has the opportunity to succeed—not just today, but for generations to come.
Every student deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for college, careers, and life. I will champion evidence-based instruction, early literacy initiatives, expanded intervention programs, and greater accountability for student outcomes. We must close achievement gaps while ensuring every child has the support they need to succeed.
Focus Areas:
Students cannot learn if they do not feel safe, supported, and valued. I will advocate for stronger school safety measures, increased mental health resources, restorative practices, and meaningful family engagement. Every student should walk into school knowing they are protected and every parent should have confidence in the district's commitment to safety.
Focus Areas:
Public education depends on public trust. I will work to ensure district decisions are transparent, taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly, and the community has meaningful opportunities to participate in the decision-making process. Every dollar should support student success, and every decision should be made with openness and integrity.
